Bruno is a Hawaii born (*1985) R&B singer, songwriter, producer, and Grammy winner who sold more than 6 million albums. He grew up in Hawaii in a musical family with 6 children being exposed to many musical styles from early age. His albums are “Doo-Wops & Hoologans” (2010), “Unorthodox Jukebox” (2012) and “XXIV Magic” (2016).

2. Mariah Carey – Without You

Mariah is a US-born (*1970) American Hip Hop and R&B singer, songwriter, producer and actor with more than 200 million albums sold. She grew up in Long Island as one of 3 children of an opera singer and came to singing at an early age. Since 1990 she released 11 albums and played in numerous movies.

3. Future – Mask Off

Future is an American rapper named Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, born (*1983) and grown up in Atlanta, Georgia. He has recorded 6 studio albums, 5 mixtapes and a tour in 2016 together with the rapper Drake.

4. Abba – Knowing Me, Knowing You

Abba

Abba was a Swedish Pop Group made up of 2 couples, 2 female singers, Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad and 2 instrumentalists, Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson who also wrote the songs they got famous with. Their career spanned from 1972 to 1982 and in that time they had 8 albums with big international success.

5. Jethro Tull – Velvet Green

Jethro Tull is the band of the British singer, flute player, multi instrumentalist, composer & songwriter Ian Anderson (*1947), founded in 1967 and still running. Ian is the only one that has remained from the original band because he is the one giving this band the face, the voice, the flute, the music and the lyrics. The song “Velvet Green” is taken from their 1977 album “Songs From The Wood” that was a very successful combination of Rock and Folk styles. It is one of the the most complex compositions of the album with very irregular time meters and very effective use of the sound of an portative pipe organ, giving the whole album a medieval character.

6. Pink Floyd – Have A Cigar

Pink Floyd was an English Rock Band founded in 1965 and was active until 1995. The band members were David Gilmour (guitar), Nick Mason (drums), Roger Waters (bass & vocals), Richard Wright (keyboards & vocals). Pink Floyd created their own style of progressive psychedelic Rock Music with albums like “The Darks Side Of The Moon” (1973), “Animals” (1977), “The Wall” (1979), “The Endless River” (2014, a reunion album) and “Wish You Were Here” (1975) where the song “Have a Cigar” appeared.

7. Esperanza Spalding – On The Sunny Side Of The Street (check it out on YouTube!)

Esperanza, a singer and bass player was born in 1984 in Portland, Oregon and is a true musical prodigy, starting to play violin but later switched to bass and singing. She studied at the famous Berklee College of Music in Boston where they kept her as a professor after graduating at the age of 20. Besides her amazingly clear soprano voice she knocks audiences out by accompanying herself and her band on bass at the same time with 100% intensity, doing the job of 2 high calibre musicians on stage simultaneously. And of course her bass solos are as spectacular as her vocalizes.

8. Diana Krall – Like Someone in Love

Diana Krall is a Canadian singer and piano player born in 1964 and grew up in Vancouver in a musical family where she was exposed to Classical and Jazz music from an early age. Like Esperanza she serves on stage as 2 persons in one, accompanying her own singing on the piano, being both a highly prolific singer and piano soloist. Since 1990 she brought out 20 albums and appeared in 2012 as guest artist on Paul Mc Cartney´s album “Kisses On The Bottom”.
