Prepoo is hair treatment done before shampooing to prevent the shampoo from stripping the hair of its natural oils and moisture.
This treatment can be done from 20 minutes to overnight depending on your hair needs. Prepoo helps to reduce frizz and sometimes help to soften the hair.
Investing in a good thermal cap or plastic cap is encouraged for all naturalistas. Also if you always wash your hair with shampoo, then don’t skip this step.
BEST OILS FOR PREPOO
1. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
This oil contains fatty acids that coats the shaft of the hair. EVOO moisturizes the hair and helps to loosen dandruff.
2. Coconut oil
This is a carrier oil that helps to fight frizz, stimulates hair follicles, boosts hair growth, protects hair from split ends and it’s easily absorbed into the hair.
3. Jamaican black castor oil
This carrier oil which is very thick can also be used for prepoo because it improves blood circulation in the scalp which stimulates hair growth.
Avocado is edible and nutritious. It contains more fatty acid than Olive oil. It nourishes and strengthens the hair strands and prevents grey hairs.
5. Sesame oil
This is my favourite prepoo oil. This oil also helps to fight frizz, darkens the hair and protects the hair against UV rays from sunlight. Read more about it here.
