According to Hebrews 11:1, ..Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”
Abraham is called the father of faith because he demonstrated a great deal of faith in his walk with God. It can be seen in this Bible quotation below, Genesis 12:1.
Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country,From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that l will show you “.
God’s Word leads to faith: Abram was an idolater when God called him (Josh 24:2), revealed His glory to him (Acts 7:2), and spoke to him.
Abram turned from vain idols to walk with the Lord, and all of this was by God’s grace. The hearing of the Word creates faith (John 5:24 and Rom 10:17).
God’s creative Word is still at work even today and I’m privileged to have a firsthand experience.
When you live by faith, the following steps are certain:
1. You make your decisions on the basis of the Word of God as stated in Rom 10 :17,
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
2. You seek to glorify God alone. (Rom 4:19-20),
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead.
3. You must obey God in spite of circumstances or consequences. (Heb 11:29).
4. You are not afraid of what others may say or do. (Heb 11:30).
True Faith is not in a hurry and is ever willing to wait as can be seen in Isaiah 28:16)
“…..he that believeth shall not make haste”.
Hebrews 6:12 says :
“….who through faith and patience inherit the promise s”.
