As a seasoned naturalista, there are days when you feel like putting your natural hair in a bun or in a cute high puff depending on your hair length. It is effortless and beautiful but if care is not taken, you might develop headache and put your hair at the risk of traction alopecia.
As my natural hair journey progressed, I learnt to be very experimental with my hair and some hair products and I promised from the start to share my observations with you all.

When I started out, I invested in dozens of headbands/ hairbands because I felt that was what I needed but I soon realised that as the headband squeezes head, it slides its way upward, pulling your hair along with it and causing headache and loss of hair from those pressure points, namely the very front of your head, the temple region and the points a few inches behind.
Because of this, I resorted to conrows which sadly, caused my frontal hair to disappear again which is why I’m starting my 4 weeks frontal hair re-growth challenge!
After my series of experiment with headband/hairband, I got a shoe lace for my hair. At first I was afraid it will be headache-inducing as well but I was wrong. The only advice I will give to all naturalistas is to always moisturize their hair before putting it in a bun.
