For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
2 Corinthians:1:20

God’s Words are filled with promises of hope and joy. The Bible created a beautiful picture of God’s longing and His plan for mankind. He is always willing to make us happy as can be seen in 2nd Corinthians 1:20 but there are prayers that God don’t answer! Before, you scoff or crucify me, please I will advise you read to the end and when you have been convinced, share with your friends.

Prayer 1. ‘God please make me rich so I can intimidate others with my wealth’

The problem with this prayer point is the intention. What’s the intention behind the wealth you seek from God? Is it Self serving? Or is it in alignment with God’s guidelines? God cannot give you wealth as a tool of intimidation; rather He gives us financial wealth for the following reasons:

A. For the expansion and establishment of the Kingdom

Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

B. To take care of your family. Ist Timothy 5: 4, 8

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
1 Timothy:5:8

C. For helping the needy. James 1:27; Galatians 6:10

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

These are God’s purpose for entrusting us with wealth.

Prayer 2: God kill my enemies now!

God’s plan is to humble our enemies before us and give them a chance of repentance as can be seen in Hebrews 1: 13; Acts 2: 35; Psalm 110: 1.

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

In life, it is natural for us to encounter people who oppose or hate us for no reason whom we term as enemies- enemies of our life or enemies of our faith. They are humans like us and Jesus gave us a great commission in Mathew 28: 19- 20

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

If God destroys all our enemies, then who are we going to preach to? He sent us to preach to all nations- all flesh. So instead of praying for the death of your enemies, pray for their repentence and win souls for Christ. Luke 6: 27. Proverbs 11:30

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

Prayer 3: selfish prayers

In life, God does not give us what we want, He only gives us what we can manage . Mathew 25: 15-29

And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

My pastor, Rev Dr Bright Chibike, the General Overseer of DOMINANT THRONE INT’L CHURCH once gave an example using his 10 year old son. Notwithstanding the love he has for him, he can never give him the keys to his car to go for a spin because it will lead to destruction. Likewise God, He will only entrust you with more blessings if you are faithful in little things and when you mature spiritually.

Prayer 4: Father please entrust me with more.

The simple answer is No! God will not give you more when you don’t multiply the little He has entrusted in your hands because our God is a God of productivity, accountability and multiplication. In John 6:1-14, we saw how Jesus multiplied 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes to feed the multitude.  Matthew 25: 24- 26 showed us the reward of people who allow their blessings stagnate.

Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
