Hello and welcome back to my blog. Happy New year to you all and I hope you are having a good one.
If I may ask: did you set personal goals for yourself for the new year, or are you among those that don’t give a hoot? Please share your opinion with me in the comment section below ❤️
In other news. I turned 28 on Saturday and I had a low key celebration in the Sauna. It was more fun because of the emails I got from you guys. I just want to thank you all for the best wishes.

So today I will debunk a myth about 4c natural hair. I know it’s been ages since I wrote about this topic. But today I have something to say.
Incase you are still new here, I will link up some posts which chronicle my natural hair journey.
HOW I GREW MY HAIR FASTER IN 2 MONTHS
In the last two years, I have been manhandling my hair, from a bad dye job, to not detangling properly, to incorrect monthly trimming, constant manipulation (aka hand in head syndrome), allowing uncertified stylists to style my hair etc.
All these wrong practices made my hair unable to retain length. I went from 15 cm to 13cm in one month. My hair was growing backwards!
But on the 11th day of December, 2018. I challenged myself to a protective style – box braids. The box braids were professionally installed and I promised myself to pass the 3 weeks mark as I’ve never been able to wear my protective style for more than 2 weeks.
Luckily, I exceeded the 3 weeks mark and I am now in the 5 week and will continue till week 8.
OBSERVATION AND LESSONS LEARNT
1. The African 4c hair can grow more than 1 inch monthly.
2. The 4c hair thrives when it is left alone!
3. Oiling the scalp works wonders.
4. Spritzing the hair with water is sufficient.
5. Do not over wash your hair. Two times per month is OK.
6. Eat fruits, vegetables and drink water.
7. Stimulate growth by using peppermint oil.

❤️❤️❤️ Happy birthday 🎂 ❤️❤️❤️
I think I need to take a cue from you and learn to wear my hair longer because your growth is evident. One more thing : keep flourishing and don’t stop making our black community proud .
