THE BEST CLEANSERS FOR DRY SKIN

This post is the first of its kind. It is the start of a new series that will guide you on how to curate your perfect skincare routine. Skincare is a very personal journey but if you are armed with the best tools that you need, you may never need to visit an esthetician or a dermatologist.

The first and the most important step in Skincare is CLEANSING. If you get the first step right, then you will most likely get the other steps right. Cleansing your dry skin type the wrong way, will strip your face off its moisture and cause problems like redness and irritation.

People with the dry skin type battle with moisture retention, which is why they need to steer clear from harsh cleansers. Any cleanser that stings or tightens your face is not in your best interest. Forego products with alcohol and perfume as they can flare up flakiness and irritate your skin.

In my Book, THE SKINCARE ROUTINE MANUAL, I wrote on the best ingredients to be on the look out for when purchasing your skincare products. Everything you need to know about Skincare is extensively covered in this book. However, if you have a dry skin type, make sure you nourish your skin by investing in products that contain ingredients like ceramides, hyaluronic and lipids to retain your skin moisture.

BEST CLEANSERS FOR DRY SKIN

  1. Skinceuticals Gentle Cleanser.

This cleanser contains glycolic acid which gently exfoliates the skin without irritating it.

2. Toleraine Hydrating Gentle Cleanser by La Roche POSAY.

This is one of my favourites because it contains glycerin (which helps the skin to retain moisture). Also, it contains Ceramides and Niacinamide which I absolutely love. If you want to know more about Niacinamide and how to use it correctly, then don’t forget to check out my book, THE SKINCARE ROUTINE MANUAL.

Make sure you moisturize after cleansing your skin for maximum results.
